This covers the waitlist. The app has its own notice, because it asks for more: your birth date, time and place.

What we keep

Your email address and the time you joined. If you arrived through a friend’s link, which link it was, so they move up the line. If you arrived from a campaign link, its source. And a keyed hash of your internet address, which lets us slow down a flood of signups from one place and cannot be turned back into the address. We never ask for your name, and we never keep your internet address itself.

What we do with it

We send you one email when you join, with your place in line and your link. We write again when the beta opens or your place comes up. That is all it is for. We don’t sell it, rent it, or use it for advertising.

Cookies and storage

No advertising and no tracking cookies. We count visits and measure how fast pages load with Vercel’s own analytics, which sets no cookies and doesn’t identify you. If you came through a friend’s link, one cookie remembers their code for thirty days so the referral still counts if you sign up later, and if you came through one of our short links, another remembers which one. Your browser also keeps your own code, so the page can show your place when you come back, and whether you chose day or night mode. Both stay on your device.

Who else handles it

Three companies do work for us and see only what that work needs: Neon stores the list, Resend sends the email, and Vercel serves this site and counts its visits. Each is bound to use it only to provide that service. The blog’s photographs come from Unsplash and load from Unsplash’s servers, so your browser asks Unsplash for them as it would on any site that shows them; we send Unsplash nothing about you.

Want off the list? Say so and you’re gone.

Reply to any email we send, use the unsubscribe link in the beta announcement, or write to hello@spisce.com. We delete your entry, and any referral credit it gave someone else stops counting. You can also ask us what we hold about you, and we’ll send it.

How long we keep it

Until you ask us to remove it, or until the waitlist closes. If you never join the app, your entry is deleted within ninety days of the waitlist closing.
